I get a window that reads, "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services". How can I fix this problem?
I have Windows XP Sercie Pack 3 and while I'm using my computer, I get a window that reads "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". This has appeared for the past 3 weeks. It asks to send information or not to send. I've done both, but decided to try this. After a few minutes of the window appearing, my computer pretty much freezes. I can still open My Documents, but I can't click on Start, open some of the Desktop icons (especially Internet Explorer), and if there are open tabs in the lower task bar, I can't click on them. If there is music playing, it continues to play but I can't close anything. Also, the lower task bar changes to the Windows Classic display and I must change it back to the Windows XP display. What can I do to resolve this issue? Thanks!1 person needs an answerI do too

Method 2:You may also refer the following link and perform the online scan on your computer to check whether your computer is been infected by any virus or not.http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.html Method 3:You may try to disable the DEP for Generic Host Process by following the steps:a. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.d. On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.c. On the Data Execution Prevention tab, use one of the following procedures and check if Generic Host Process is listed, then try to disable the same: > Click Turn off DEP for essential Windows programs and services only to select the OptIn policy.> Click Turn off DEP for all programs and services except those I select to select the OptOut policy, and then click Add to add the programs that you do not want to use the DEP feature.d.
